There have been so many amazing people stepping up over the past few months, that we wanted to focus on a Hero that stands out for doing good during this difficult time.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1028\" src=\"https:\/\/homecleanheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Valarie-at-work-as-a-respiratory-technician.jpg\" alt=\"Valarie smiling in her work uniform at the hospital\" width=\"230\" height=\"269\" \/><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Each year, Home Clean Heroes holds a Who\u2019s Your Hero contest, in which people that live in the local community can nominate someone admirable in their life who deserves a free house cleaning. Home Clean Heroes then selects a winner and provides the gift of a free house cleaning, not only for the contest winner but also for the person who nominated them. This year was especially meaningful to us, as we asked for nominations specifically focused on essential workers. Essential workers have shown what it means to be a hero during COVID-19. They have put others before their own safety and health and sacrificed so much for the greater good. Even when it can mean spending days or months away from loved ones, they have continued to do meaningful work. It was especially difficult to select a winner this year, since every person nominated is positively impacting the local community, and more than deserving of recognition.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Congratulations to our Who&#8217;s Your Hero Contest Winner<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1029\" src=\"https:\/\/homecleanheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Your-Hero-Contest-Winner-Valarie-Mosier-.jpg\" alt=\"Valarie smiling with her daughter\" width=\"230\" height=\"307\" \/>We are thrilled to announce that the winner of our 2020 Who\u2019s Your Hero Contest is Valarie! Valarie is a respiratory therapist at Sentara hospital in Norfolk, where she provides care for patients who have trouble breathing. She has been directly working with COVID-19 patients to bring them the care they need. Valarie was nominated by her sister Stephanie. Stephanie said, <em>\u201cValarie goes to work every day as a respiratory therapist and helps COVID-19 patients. She hasn\u2019t hugged her 7 and 3-year-old in over a month as they are now staying long term with her parents.\u201d <\/em>Valarie and Stephanie aren\u2019t just sisters, but best friends who talk to each other on a daily basis. When reading through all of the wonderful Hero nominations we received, we could really feel the empathy that Stephanie had for her sister and all she\u2019s sacrificed to help others. This made Valarie stand out as the clear winner of the Who\u2019s Your Hero contest.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1030\" src=\"https:\/\/homecleanheroes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Your-Hero-Contest-Winner-with-her-daughter.jpg\" alt=\"Contest winner Valarie with her daughter\" width=\"230\" height=\"307\" \/>Valarie is more than deserving of this recognition. Not only will Valarie receive the prize of a free house cleaning, but Stephanie will receive a free cleaning as well.
